About Us
Duratek was founded by Director Stuart Thomas, who brings over 40 years experience in steel construction and manufacturing. The business was established with a focus on the engineering and design of steel structures, general engineering, and product design, including 3D concept design, FEA, and workshop construction drawings.
In 2025, Duratek expanded through the acquisition of Hilet Constructions, a respected specialist with 26 years experience in project management and the supply/install of structural steelwork to the construction industry. Known for delivering quality, timely and straightforward solutions, Hilet Constructions was a natural fit for Duratek’s growth.
This combined expertise in engineering, in-house fabrication and onsite installation now enables Duratek to deliver residential and commercial construction projects from concept through to completion — or provide support at any stage of the process.
